The Aardwolf looks like
a small striped Hyaena. An Aardwolf is about the same size as a Jackal
with a mane which runs from behind its ears to its tail. Aardwolf
has a yellow coat with dark brown vertical stripes on its sides. The
Aardwolf's black tipped tail is long and bushy. Aardwolf habitat is
in dry open thorn veld. A shy nocturnal animal, the Aardwolf is seldom
seen during the day. Normally single but sometimes seen in small family
groups. The Aardwolf feeds on insects. Termites and larvae are probably
the main part of the Aardwolf's diet. Normally three young are born
per litter.
