The
Tsessebe has the reputation of being the fastest antelope in Southern
Africa. They are endangered in South Africa, mainly through habitat
loss. Both sexes have crescent shaped horns, the males have larger
and thicker horns.
Habitat is grassland and open country with scattered patches of bush.
Herds are small, usually up to ten animals.
Diet is exclusively grass. They appear to be almost independent of
water when the grass is green.
