We just came across Rocco, our new JRT, only a few days ago. I've
personally owned a German Shephard when I was younger and I believe
the JRT is brighter. This guy (Rocco) led us to our apartment when
we got out of the car after buying him. He is 4 1/2 and already
trained in so many ways. He never misses a beat. I am the authority,
although he mostly cares about protecting my girlfriend, who also
lives in the same household. I'm not a dog person, per-se and I
would recommend a Jack to anyone. He must have gone through some
training already, for he already knows all the standard "tricks."
After about two hours, he would respond to my commands, offering
me full control over the situation. He is so bright it is almost
as if he understands the English language. He is fully house broken,
and will wait silently for a whole day (if need be) to go "play
ball." This guy will bring back anything I throw, into any
terrain, period. I am floored by his intelligence...
