Stick Insect (Order Phasmatodea)

This Stick insect is of the family phasmatidae. It resembles a twig. This specimen is about 200 mm long.

Stick insects eat plants. Most can not fly but do have wings which they use for show when threatened. Their wonderful camouflage helps them hide from predators. Stick Insects are Nocturnal.
